Spring Break is just around the corner and so is our Maui Shallow Coastline Charter! We are opening our seasonal 2-Tank Shallow Boat Dive Charter, which includes two boat dives at two shallow reef locations along the coastline of Maui. This trip has something for everyone. The sites are shallow – no deeper than 40 ft. – so it’s a perfect chance for folks to get their fins wet again, with a bit of a refresher prior to one of our Lanai Trips. It’s also an excellent option for folks with the PADI Scuba Diver Credential or families with PADI Open Water Divers under the age of 12; the max depth criteria for those certified divers are easily met on this trip. And there’s lots to see! We regularly see turtles and reefs teeming with fish, shrimp, eels, and the occasional whitetip reef shark! As always we specialize in small group sizes, and ecology focused guided dives, so even the most experienced divers are equally engaged with all there is to see and learn. And a bonus, the check-in time is not until 12:30p so for divers who rather sleep in and not get up early this is a perfect trip!
When?
This trip is offered on Tuesday afternoons during the Spring Break season. Check-in at 12:30p. When booking online you will see which dates are available in March and April of 2020. We don’t usually run this trip again until the Christmas holiday season.
Why Seasonal?
Why Seasonal?It seems that during major school holiday seasons, we have a larger volume of divers traveling in groups and this trip offers greater flexibility with the shallower profiles and the later check-in time.
Where Do You Go?
It really depends on the weather conditions on that day. We are usually choosing from Honolua Bay, Namalu Bay, Mala Pier, Olowalu Reef, Coral Gardens or sometimes even East Lana’i. Anywhere with shallow depths and good conditions! Our Captains are the best at dialing in which sites have the most to offer on any given day.
Anything Else?
We believe strongly in small group sizes not only for our guided dives but perhaps even more importantly for our classes. If you’re doing your Open Water Certification or an Open Water Referral with us, normally your 4 ocean dives (open water dives) would be from shore. But this charter can accommodate students with their instructor working to complete open water dives 3 & 4, in their own group. Call our office for pricing if you’d like to upgrade your certification to include both shore dives and boat dives if the timing works out – as we only offer this trip on Tuesdays.
